  Hong Kong Origami Academy 香港摺紙協會

Hong Kong Origami Academy was founded in 2005, one of the most authoritative origami organizations in Hong Kong. In the past decade, HKOA has been committed to promote origami, collaborate with origami societies around the world, and organized international origami conventions. HKOA is focusing on nurture the origami talents in recent years, combining origami techniques with industrial product design, in order to develop an innovative market.

香港摺紙協會於2005年成立,為香港最權威摺紙藝術與設計組織之一,十多年來一直致力促進摺紙在香港的發展,以及與世界各地不同摺紙機構、組織及摺紙愛好者聯繫合作,定期舉辦活動,增廣社會各界人士對摺紙之認識。近年著重培育摺紙設計人材,融合摺紙結構技巧及工業設計,打造創新摺紙產品市場。

Chan Pak Hei, Kade, Founding Chairman of Hong Kong Origami Academy, who is a professional origami artist and product/graphic designer, graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University - School of Design (Bachelor of Arts (BA) - Industrial and Product Design). Kade started origami art in 2005 at the age of 12. Now Kade Chan has more than 300 original origami designs and over 19 years of experience in origami teaching, also organized more than 500 public events/exhibitions and collaborated with many famous brands such as Ferragamo, Lamborghini, and Bottega Veneta.
 

In 2008, when Kade Chan was 14 years old, he designed his first origami model - the Fiery Dragon. The diagram has been published in the book Origami Worldwide by John Montroll and Brian K Webb. In addition, instructions for the Fiery Dragon were made into a YouTube video tutorial by Tadashi Mori, which has had over 6,000,000 views. 

 

Kade Chan has received a great deal of recognition for his designs and has been the recipient of many international origami awards and honors. Most notably, in 2012, he received the Éric Joisel Award from Origami Canada. And in 2013, he received the Yoshino Issei Fund from the Japan Origami Academic Society. This is the most prestigious award in the origami community, and he is the first Chinese to receive it. 2015, Kade Chan was invited by the TEDx HKPolyU to be the guest speaker, sharing his creative design thinking process and origami techniques with the public. During 2016 and 2017, Kade Chan was invited to be the special guest of Origami USA Convention 2016 and Korea Origami Convention 2017, it was a great recognition for his design career.

In 2019, Kade Chan was invited by the TEDx Victoria Harbour to be the guest speaker, sharing origami art. The same year, he collaborated with The Hong Kong Jockey Club, created a new Guinness World Record together, Largest Origami Lesson! In 2020, Kade Chan was awarded as one of the Hong Kong Ten Oustanding Young Persons, this is a great honor.

 

香港摺紙協會創會主席陳柏熹 Kade Chan,畢業於香港理工大學- 設計學院(產品設計(榮譽) 文學士),他由12歲 (2005年) 開始接觸摺紙藝術,至今已經擁有超過19年的摺紙教學經驗以及超過300件的原創摺紙作品,亦舉辦了超過500場公開展覽及活動,合作機構包括多個國際知名品牌如 Ferragamo, Lamborghini Bottega Veneta 等等。

在2008年,陳柏熹創作了他的首個摺紙作品 - 噴火飛龍,當時他年僅14歲。 噴火飛龍受到美國摺紙藝術家 John Montroll 及 Brian K Webb 的垂青,出版於 Origami Worldwide 中。 此外,他授權日本摺紙藝術家 Tadashi Mori 攝製的噴火飛龍影片教學,在YouTube上獲得超過600萬次觀看記錄。

陳柏熹在國際摺紙比賽上屢獲殊榮。 在2012年,他獲得由 加拿大摺紙學會 頒發的 Éric Joisel Award 以表揚他在摺紙藝術上的成就。 在過去的2013年,他更獲得由 日本摺紙學會 頒發的 吉野一生基金 來肯定他在推廣摺紙藝術上的貢獻,此為摺紙藝術界上最享負盛名的獎項,而他更是首位中國人獲得此殊榮。 2015年,Kade Chan受 TEDx HKPolyU 邀請,與公眾分享他的創意設計思維及摺紙創作技巧。另外在2016及2017年間, 他更獲美國摺紙協會及韓國摺紙協會邀請成為年度展覽特別嘉賓, 這是他在摺紙藝術界上的一大榮耀。

在2019年,陳柏熹在 TEDx Victoria Harbour 與公眾分享摺紙藝術,同年更與香港賽馬會合作,創造出一項健力士世界紀錄 - 最大型摺紙課,更在2020年榮獲香港十大傑出青年。
